ELMER, the funny, colourful patchwork elephant from David McKee, is a firm favourite with us and millions of
households around the world. Elmer makes the world a brighter place and his special gift is accepting who he is
and helping us to celebrate everyone’s differences. Every year he is celebrated on Elmer day, this year this is the
29th of May and we are spreading the positivity of Elmer with free resources so that everyone can hold their
own celebration in May. Whether you’re a school, library, bookshop or a family wanting to join in at home,
this year’s Elmer day is open to anyone who wants to take part.
